Wannabe Hercule Poirots from across the South-West can take part in a night of murder mystery at one of the most atmospheric venue in the region.

Taking place on Friday 22 March at the gothic looking Cadbury House in Congresbury eagle eyed detectives are now being invited to see if they can find the felon at what has become one of the venue’s most popular and regular events.

The setting for this night of dastardly deeds is the enigmatic era of 1952 and following the coronation of HRH Queen Elizabeth II the Parish Council of the all-but-forgotten village of Prinkton-on-Sea has decided to commemorate the grand occasion by making a proper cricket pitch on the village green.

They have also decided to rename the pub on the green to something more appropriate than 'The Olde Stump Inn', and tonight, the council will hold a meeting at the local guest house to decide on the new name and to get an update on the progress with the cricket pitch.

When a village gets together to make a collective decision it is not unusual to encounter a little animosity or even in extreme circumstances perhaps a good deal of shouting.

But for the people present at the meeting tonight, there is a person or persons yet unknown who will make very sure that this meeting will go down in the village's history as the night that they finally got even!

Gareth Ireland, general manager at Cadbury House said: “Murder mystery nights are still one of the most popular events we hold here at Cadbury House. It provides the perfect backdrop and there are plenty of rooms, stairs, nooks and crannies where the killer can get up to their dastardly deed without being noticed!

“Those who come along will be in for a fantastic night of detective work, while enjoying the ambience and atmosphere of the 19 Century house.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £49.00 per person and include a three-course meal which includes a Starter of sweet potato, coriander and coconut soup (ve); Main of roast pork tenderloin, grain mustard and sage mash, creamed savoy and pancetta and cider braised bay onions; Dessert of chocolate and marmalade bread and butter pudding with vanilla crème anglaise.

Please note dietary requirements will be catered for separately.
